The HKFTU Cross-Boundary Services Limited (hereinafter referred to as "the Centre") is committed to protecting your personal data. The Centre ensures that its policies and practices regarding the collection, retention, use and transfer of personal data comply with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Chapter 486 of the Laws of Hong Kong). Please refer to the following privacy policy statement to understand how the Centre uses your personal data. Please note that this statement may be amended from time to time without prior notice and you should check the latest version regularly. In the event of any inconsistency or conflict between the English and Chinese versions of this statement, the Chinese version shall prevail.

 

(1)Personal Data Collected by the Centre

In order to obtain the approval of the relevant government authorities for the application of license by the customer, it is necessary for the customer to fill in the necessary personal data. The Centre will collect (from the Centre's homepage or from the customer's application), including but not limited to, the following personal data provided by you to the Centre:

 

  1. data such as name, gender, date of birth, personal identification information;
  2. contact information such as telephone number, email address, postal address and fax number;

If you refuse to provide the above information, you may not be able to browse certain parts of the Centre’s website, and the Centre may not be able to process any application or request submitted by you, and you may not be able to complete the matters you intended to do on the Centre’s website. If you are under the age of 18, you must obtain prior consent from your parents or guardians before providing your personal data to the Centre.

Cookies

When you visit our website, some parts of our website may store cookies on your computer in order to meet your needs and interests in providing quality services and/or to save you the trouble of re-registering each time you visit our website. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you may also change the settings of your browser to block cookies.

Network Records

We may also collect your IP address, browser type and browsing time. This information is used for research purposes only and is stored and processed separately from other information. The Centre will never link IP addresses to any personal information. Except in rare cases, the Centre may use IP addresses to help combat and/or prevent abuse or criminal activity on our website.

Links to Other Sites

Our website contains links to websites operated by collaborators, each of which has a different privacy policy. You should continue to be aware of the privacy statements of other websites when you leave our website and visit them. The Centre does not have any control over the personal information you submitted or any information you obtain on the collaborators’ websites.

 

 

(2)Purposes of Collection and Use of Personal Data

The Centre may use and retain your personal data for the following purposes:

  1. Processing your requests for the issuance of license;
  1. to process any payment instructions requested by you in the course of procurement of goods by our agency, including verification of your credit card, bank card, PPS, PAY PAL, UnionPay or Alipay account information with third parties who provide relevant services in connection with our business operations;

Apart from the above purposes, we will not knowingly or intentionally use or share the personal data provided by you in any other circumstances without your prior consent.

If you do not want us to send you direct marketing information as described above, you may exercise your right to opt out by following the opt-out instructions in the relevant marketing information or by notifying a representative of the Centre in writing at the time you provide your personal data.

 

(3)Transfer and Disclosure of Personal Data

When collecting your personal data, we will: (a) inform you (by way of PICS or otherwise) that we are collecting your personal data and the purposes for which we are using such data; (b) where applicable, you may choose to object to the use of your personal data for direct marketing purposes; and (c) inform you how we will store your personal data and how you may access and amend your personal data.

We will take all practicable steps to ensure the confidentiality of your personal data and if we are obliged to take legal action against you for any reason, including for the purpose of recovering any money owed by you to us, you expressly agree that we may identify you on the basis of the personal data provided by you and take legal action against you.

 

(4)Direct Marketing

With your consent, to send you direct marketing promotional products, latest services and important updates about us, our affiliate organizations or our business associates.

 

(5)Data Security Commitment

Except as stated in the above paragraph, your personal data, however stored, may only be accessed by our staff or authorized contractors. Where personal data is stored electronically, it will be stored on a password-protected (or equivalent) secured server and can only be accessed by authorized staff of HKFTU Cross-Boundary Services Centre or its contractors. All staff and contractors handling personal data will be instructed to carry out their work in accordance with this privacy policy statement.

(7)Data Retention

Subject to any applicable laws, regulations or contractual requirements, the Centre will be required to take all practicable steps to ensure that personal data will not be kept longer than is necessary for the fulfillment of the purpose (including any directly related purpose) for which the data are or are to be used.
