HKFTU CROSS-BOUNDARY SERVICES CENTRE
Introduction
The HKFTU CROSS – BOUNDARY SERVICES CENTRE (“The Centre”) is the first services centre in Hong Kong to assist Hong Kong people in applying for the mainland driving licence. It is established to promote the development of the Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Greater Bay Area and to bring about the integration of Hong Kong into the national development. This is also aim to facilitate different sectors of the Hong Kong society to apply for relevant documents and formalities locally in Hong Kong which is necessary for their living, working and travelling in the Mainland.
The centre is established to facilitate the transportation between Guangdong Province and Hong Kong, and it will be opened on 29 June 2024. In the first phase, only medical examination and licence replacement services for the Mainland driving licence are provided.
Currently, Hong Kong residents must make travels to visit designated medical institutions in the Mainland in person to undergo medical examination to satisfy the necessary procedures of the Mainland driving licence application. With the support of the relevant departments from both the Mainland and Hong Kong, the HKFTU has taken the lead in providing medical examination service in Hong Kong for any Hong Kong residents who need to replace their Mainland driving licences. This can significantly save the time of the applicants. Apart from completing the medical examination locally, applicants can also enjoy a one-stop service for the replacement of a Mainland driving licence through the Centre.
Since 2004, the HKFTU has set up Mainland Consultation Services Centre in six cities, namely Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Huizhou, Zhongshan and Xiamen, to provide all-round support and services to people of Hong Kong in the Mainland. At present, the HKFTU Mainland Consultation Services Centre has developed into a non-profit service organization specializing in providing Hong Kong people with “legal consultation, emergency assistance, public opinion reflection and uniting Hong Kong people together”. If people of Hong Kong encounter traffic accidents in the Mainland, they can contact the HKFTU Mainland Consultation Services Centre for assistance.
The medical examination and licence replacement services of the HKFTU CROSS – BOUNDARY SERVICES CENTRE are provided in the Kwan Chart Tower, Wan Chai, near Exit A3 of the MTR Exhibition Station and Exit A1 of Wan Chai Station, making it very convenient.
To improve the comfort and convenience of our customers, and to increase the sense of good experience, the Centre has implemented online appointment booking system allowing booking by date and time slots. Service counters are also in place to enhance customer satisfaction.
